As the Senior Financial Analyst you will participate and support in the strategic decision making process by providing business planning services, financial expertise, analysis, operational reviews and business process reviews, advice and recommendations. This will involve developing annual business plans and budgets, preparing financial reports, financial models and providing financial leadership as you monitor, assess, interpret, highlight and report on the fiscal performance of agency programs and departments. Focused on analyzing variances, resource utilization, expenditure patterns, statistical and critical indicator data/information, and budgetary targets, you will recommend corrective action where appropriate. Other responsibilities include submissions to funding agencies, assistance with contract negotiation and program restructuring, and other change management initiatives in support of the agency’s vision, mission and strategic plans. The Senior Financial Analyst has a comprehensive multi-layered understanding of the financial and business planning processes and tools, skills in data management and works independently in a strategic capacity. The Senior Financial Analyst is customer focused and interacts with different levels within the organization and with staff from Health Authorities and Government.
You hold a CA, CGA, or CMA designation (or are in the final stages of obtaining one) and at least eight years of recent senior experience, in positions with increasing responsibility. Consideration will be given to those with recent leadership and managerial experience in business/financial planning, business process engineering and/or business case development. Your superior writing and presentation skills are supported by knowledge of program and business case research and development. Able to synthesize and report on complex issues, you thrive in a role where you can negotiate, facilitate and encourage co-operation between diverse operational groups. Demonstrated skill with ERP computerized financial applications is a must. (People soft, Sap, Oracle etc). Advanced excel skills are also required as are strong analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to meet deadlines round out your experience for this position.
