BC Cancer is one of the world's renowned cancer organizations. The Sindi Ahluwalia Hawkins Centre, located in Kelowna, BC, offers a full range of services in Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Clinical Trials, Palliative care and support services such as Nutrition, Patient and Family Counseling, and Oncology Psychiatry. The local medical community offers tertiary level care across specialties, affiliation with the University of British Columbia Okanagan campus and the UBC Faculty of Medicine training program.

 

Working with a team of specialized medical oncologists at this centre, you will participate exclusively in the care of Oncology patients. The Okanagan is a region of spectacular beauty and agricultural abundance, with a variety of recreational and cultural options. Surrounded by majestic mountains, refreshing waters and lush orchards, every season holds promise, with activities such as hiking, biking and boating in summer, to skiing, boarding and biathlon in winter. Fortunate to be at the heart of BC’s Okanagan wine region, the area boasts amazing festivals featuring internationally recognized wines. In addition to museums, art galleries, a symphony, opera and choral groups, ballet, and wonderful restaurants, the 2,000 hours of sunshine each year will help you enjoy making the Southern Interior your home.

 

As a specialist, the full spectrum of practice is available for suitable candidates to tailor to their interest. You will use your experience and qualifications to provide expert medical oncology care for our patients. Areas of tumour site participation will be defined by Centre need, with an effort to accommodate candidate interests as well. There are exciting opportunities for engagement in our expanding research and education programs.

 

You have obtained or are working towards Fellowship standing in the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine, along with a certificate of Special Competence in Medical Oncology. You must also be eligible for licensing with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of British Columbia and meet the requirements of credentialing by the Professional Advisory Committee of BC Cancer. You must be eligible for a valid license to practice medicine in Canada to apply.
