What you’ll do

 

The Advisor, Talent Acquisition Physician/Clinical Recruitment, provides a specialized area of health care recruitment who supports PHSA with attracting top-level physicians, specialists, clinicians, and medical experts. Reporting to the Manager, Talent Acquisition, the position is responsible to conduct searches, advise senior leaders, implement proactive recruitment initiatives, qualify candidates and provide on-boarding and relocation expertise. Hours of work may vary to facilitate meetings/discussions outside of physician office hours. High level tasks include:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify needs, planning strategies and search assignments, and to develop a key talent pipeline for workforce and succession planning.
  • Recommend the best recruitment strategies, including creative and cost effective marketing.
  • Maintain strong relationships with leaders, HR team members and external organizations.
  • Develop and maintain local, provincial, national and international contacts to source candidate.
  • Develop and maintain a network of contacts to help identify and source qualified candidates locally, nationally and internationally through the development and maintenance of a network of contacts and related databases.
  • Advise on immigration and work permit issues; liaise with regulatory bodies and HealthMatch BC on licensure issues.

 

What you bring

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Commerce/Business Management or related field
  • 7+ years’ of recent experience in a health care setting or other large organization with particular experience in strategic recruitment initiatives and search as well as workforce planning.

Skills and Experience

  • Specialized experience in clinical or physician recruitment, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of recruitment wise practice combined with effective promotional / marketing skills
  • Experience leading a recruitment and retention service which is both strategic and client focused; and successful experience using client engagement discussion and forms to develop search parameters
  • Skilled in using a collaborative approach to share knowledge and expertise, and provide guidance to diverse groups and individuals while navigating potentially sensitive/confidential situations
  • Excellent self-initiative with ability to move projects forward both proactively and in response to changing priorities/unforeseen opportunities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to positively influence and persuade others
