What you’ll do
- Collaborate with the Director, Business Strategy and Operations and the Executive Director of BC Transplant and assists with service delivery modeling, funding applications, project reviews, and business process improvement reviews by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing information.
- Work collaboratively with PHSA Corporate Finance team to jointly support BC Transplant business planning and operations portfolio.
- Work closely with the Regional Health Authority finance and Contract Managers and provides subject matter expertise to contract Change Requests
- Responsible for the development of annual and multi-year operating budgets and planning for assigned programs and/or departments including gathering, analyzing, and summarizing information.
- Responsible for re-forecasting annual budget when there are material changes in funding and/or expenditures during the fiscal year.
- Responsible for the capture and management of capital requests, including the capital request process.
- Provide interim and year-end financial statements, analyzing deviations from plan and investigating causes. Prepare written variance analysis highlighting resource utilization, expenditure patterns, statistical and critical indicator data/information.
- Responsible for the assessment and review of terms, conditions and deliverables of the various clinical service agreements and funding letters and recommends process improvements. Provide approval to process payment. Ensures vendor account is current by reviewing statements for outstanding invoices and credits and expediting processing.
What you bring
Qualifications
- A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a degree in Finance or Business with partial or full completion of a professional accounting designation (CA, CGA or CMA), and five (5) to seven (7) years experience, including experience in program and business case research and development, preferably in a large, multi-site healthcare environment.

- Ability to work under pressure and multi-task without direct supervision.
- Demonstrated administrative, organizational, work planning and control skills.
- Demonstrated strong writing and presentation skills.
- Superior analytical skills including the ability to comprehend complex issues and related data/information and present information in concise meaningful ways.
- Strong computer and financial application skills including demonstrated ability to productively use spreadsheet, word processing, presentation and database applications.
- Customer focused with ability to facilitate and encourage co-operation between diverse operational groups and skill sets.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
- Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).

Job Type: Regular, Full-Time
Salary Range: $86,398 - $124,197/year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.
