As per the current Public Health Order, full vaccination against COVID-19 is a condition of employment with PHSA as of October 26, 2021.



The Cook I prepares assigned food items by methods/procedures such as roasting, frying, grilling, steaming, poaching, boiling and baking under the direction of the Cook Supervisor.

What you’ll do

  • Prepare and serve meals and snacks in accordance with established menus and recipes, by performing duties such as planning food preparation and cooking schedules, cooking, roasting, grilling, baking, testing for palatability, and carving. Modify and adjust established menus as required.
  • Maintain established food rotations in storage in order to minimize spoilage and waste.
  • Clean items such as dishes, pots, pans and utensils by methods such as washing and scrubbing; loading, unloading and operating dishwasher.
  • Keep equipment and cooking areas clean such as stoves, tables and countertops.
  • Monitor functioning of equipment, and report malfunctions and maintenance and repair requirements to the Cook Supervisor.
  • Complete and maintain related records and documentation such as recipes and records of resident preferences, allergies, and special dietary needs.


What you bring


  • Graduation from a recognized 12 month program in cooking or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Successful completion of Food Safe I.

Looking Glass Residence is a 14-bed residential treatment facility for young men and women aged 16 to 24, with anorexia, bulimia, binge-eating, and other eating disorders.
