Admission to neonatal intensive care and critical illness early in life are significant stressors to infants and their families and can have life long impacts. If you are a Registered Psychologist who is passionate about supporting our most vulnerable neonatal infants and families post discharge, come join our Neonatal Follow-Up Clinic multidisciplinary team!

 


What you’ll do

  • Perform psycho-educational assessments to characterize cognitive and behavioural strengths and challenges of young children seen in the Neonatal Follow-Up Program to facilitate and support optimal developmental trajectories.

  • Support, promote and optimize the development of healthy parent child relationships through supportive programming in the early years.

  • Work with a highly skilled multi-disciplinary team to provide excellence in care and contribute to research in neonatal health outcomes.

 

What you bring

  • Current registration by the College of Psychologists of British Columbia, or eligibility for registration. 
  • Training at the doctoral level in child clinical and/or developmental psychology, pediatric neuropsychology, or a closely related area.
  • Recent related experience in women’s and/or children, adolescent, psychodiagnostic, clinical and/or health care environment.

You also have the ability to:

  • Communicate and present ideas effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Carry out duties in a timely fashion.
  • Establish priorities, develop/implement short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Deal with others effectively.
