The Clinical Practitioner Oncologist (GPO) works collaboratively with Medical Oncologists and other medical specialists, nurses and clerical staffs in an interdisciplinary working environment. The role includes ambulatory care of patients on therapy and in follow up. There is also a component of the role that supports inpatient care as well. There is no on call service associated with this role.
Applicants must be eligible for licensure as a specialist in British Columbia and have Canadian certification (FRCP, FRCS or CCFP) at the time of appointment. You must also be suitable for appointment to the University of British Columbia. No previous experience in oncology is required. The department will support the successful applicant in developing the requisite expertise for the role.
