Medical Physicist - BC Cancer Victoria

Permanent Full-Time Opportunity
Applications are invited for the position of Medical Physicist at BC Cancer. The successful candidate will join a team of 9 physicists supporting a very active Radiation Therapy Program. The Centre has 6 Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators equipped with state of the art IMRT, SRS/SRT, SABR, IGRT, VMAT, and motion management systems. We also offer a brachytherapy program and offer superficial treatment. Treatment planning is carried out on Varian Eclipse integrated into as extensive province-wide Aria network.
Reporting to the Head of Medical Physics, the successful candidate is expected to participate fully in all clinical services, treatment planning, quality assurance and development of new treatment techniques and protocols.
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellence in clinical and academic services. We run a CAMPEP accredited graduate medical physics program with the University of Victoria (UVic) and a province-wide CAMPEP accredited BC Cancer medical physics residency program. A wide variety of collaborative research opportunities exist across BC Cancer and UVic.
Qualifications & Experience:
- PhD. in Medical Physics.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Radiation Oncology Physics is required.
Preference will be given to applicants who are members of CCPM/ABR. Exceptional candidates not meeting these requirements may be considered.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. We offer a competitive compensation package.
