IMITS manages over 300 applications across business, clinical and research environments, serving over 50,000 front line, administrative and research staff to enable over 4.8 million patient encounters a year. As a successful candidate, you will deliver support to enable PHSA, Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) and Providence Health Care (PHC) to become leaders in providing patient-centered health care. Trans Care BC works with its partners to set direction and provide leadership for trans health services across B.C., to ensure Two-Spirit, trans and gender diverse people of all ages get the care they need when and where they need it.
Trans Care BC is a program of the Provincial Health Services Authority, and we work to help people find the information they need to access gender-affirming health care and supports.
The Trans Care BC team provides information, resources and pathways to care related to trans health and wellness. We provide support to healthcare professionals in the form of clinical tools and resources and education.
What you’ll do
- Work within the strategic vision and direction for eLearning by collaborating with TCBC leaders and counterparts at other PHSA Agencies and Health Authorities to ensure that online programs meet the evolving requirements for quality education and training of all learners. The eLearning and Multimedia Technologies Specialist initiate discussions and contacts with counterparts at other health authorities to share information and resources, collaborate on developments and to avoid duplications.
- Work with the TCBC Provincial Education Lead to coordinate all stages of the eLearning content development, from project initiation to evaluation, with a primary focus on building, updating, and maintaining online educational resources and eLearning content. This includes assembling and leading project teams to ensure quality, consistent content and effective strategies for adult learning. This involves the directing of the team towards the shared goal, including the establishing of roles, budgeting the project, goal setting, coordinating agreement on timelines for the delivery of content and project milestones, providing technical expertise to team members, and advising them on strategies to achieve the best results.
- Work with experts and acts as the advisor in developing content into an online course using rapid eLearning development software (e.g., Articulate Storyline). The eLearning and Multimedia Technologies Specialist provide an online draft of the course for review, make any needed amendments, ensure quality standards are met, upload and test the course and make the course available for the intended audience. Lead a regular review process for each course to ensure currency and make improvements based on evaluations.
- Work with the Provincial Education Lead to establish and implement policies, procedures and standards for online learning at TCBC by developing and building instructional tools and resources, delivering effective online instruction and providing individual in-person consultation on the design of online authoring for staff developing eLearning programs.
- Maintain own technical skillset through participation in related trainings, continuing professional development, and online communities of practice.
What you bring
Qualifications
- A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to an undergraduate degree plus a postgraduate diploma or degree in Adult Education, Multimedia Studies, Educational Technology or related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience directly related to adult learning, including eLearning development.
- Extensive knowledge of and ability to apply and develop successful solutions for an eLearning or mixed media environment.
- Must have a high level of technical understanding for the development of eLearning content for the web (development for LMS compatibility and SCORM compliance).
- Extensive knowledge of interface design and expertise in software such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Moodle, Adobe Creative Cloud applications, HTML5, simulation tools, etc.
- Superior project management ability.
- Ability to prioritize and balance multiple, on-going projects.
- Ability to provide technical leadership for clinical learning staff to meet education needs.
- Excellent writing, editing, proof reading and oral and written communication skills.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
- Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).

Job Type: Regular, Part-Time (FTE 0.60)
Salary Range: $74,618 - $107,264/year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.
