“From a young age, I’ve been passionate about helping others and intrigued by health care roles. In 2020, inspired by the challenges health care workers faced during COVID-19, I applied to IPAC to support them by managing back-end operations and ensuring system efficiency. I was fortunate to channel my passion into a meaningful career, directly contributing to the improvement of systems and processes that support health care professionals.”

“I initially joined PHSA in 2021 as a student volunteer with the hand hygiene heroes’ quality improvement campaign at BC Children’s. I learnt a lot about hand hygiene compliance and my background in immunology motivated me to apply for the Hand Hygiene Auditor and Surveillance Analyst student co-op job with IPAC. After my co-op, I joined the same team in a different capacity as project coordinator, which allows me an insight into infection control through a different lens.”

Danielle Abi-Farrage
