General Practitioner in Medical Oncology – Hospitalist – BC Cancer – Kelowna

Join one of the world's renowned cancer organizations. BC Cancer - Kelowna is looking for a General Practitioner in Medical Oncology with an interest in hospitalist work.
Reporting to the Department Head of Medical Oncology at BC Cancer – Kelowna, the GPO will be part of a well-established and friendly team of oncologists, and more broadly, the growing GPO network regionally and provincially, which provides excellent opportunities for networking and education.
The successful applicant will:
- Work with a team of specialized medical oncologists and allied health professionals at this Centre, you will participate exclusively in the care of Oncology patients.
- Participate in the treatment and follow up of patients, after curative and palliative treatment planning.
- Engage in clinical trials, as the opportunities arise.
The funding for the position is set at a maximum of 1.0 FTE. However, the opportunity is flexible and could be offered to more than one candidate who is interested in working in the role part-time on a permanent basis. Service contract and salary options are available.
Qualifications:
- An interest to support patients in a hospitalist care setting
- Eligibility for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia. (FRCP, FRCS or CCFP)
- Eligibility for appointment to medical staff of BC Cancer, and Kelowna General Hospital.
- Eligibility for appointment to the University of British Columbia.
- In-patient and oncology experience is an asset but is not required. No previous experience in medical oncology is required; BC Cancer will support your training, involving both didactic virtual teaching, and in-clinic patient-related instruction
