What you’ll do

  • Perform duties related to the ordering, procurement and/or distribution of nutritional products and enteral feeding supplies.  Duties include but are not limited to providing direct service to clients on the telephone or via email, maintaining inventory and related documentation of transactions and product shipment, and placing copy of transaction(s) in client file.
  • Process orders as per established guidelines and procedures. Maintain bookkeeping entries using computer software and prepares monthly invoices for internal hospital and health authority programs, home enteral feeding supplies, and external clients including other health authorities.
  • Maintain perpetual client and inventory records in BCMNP by recording information such as stock disbursements and receipts on computer database. Contact Supply Chain to obtain product information, cost and delivery details. Keep current pricing and processes changes in pricing of items to maintain cost recovery for the BCMNP.
  • Using the hospital computer system, place orders with designated outside suppliers for warehoused items or for specific purchase orders for BCMNP and Formula Room.  Receive stock. Match documents such as invoices, receiving reports and packing slips with purchase orders; maintains files of these documents. Contact Supply Chain by telephone and/or email correspondence regarding unmatched documents or problems such as incomplete shipments or damaged goods.
  • Obtain information and updates on issues related to procurement, shipping and returns from suppliers.   

What you bring

  • Grade 12 plus two years’ recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

You will have the ability to:

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Keyboard at 45 wpm.
  • Deal with others effectively.
  • Physically carry out the duties of the position.
  • Organize work.
  • Commitment to develop knowledge and understanding of legislative obligations and provincial commitments found in the foundational documents – including Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), Reclaiming Power and Place Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls Calls for Justice (2019), the Declaration Act Action Plan and Remembering Keegan: A First Nations Case Study – and how they intersect across the health care system.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
  • As a strong asset for consideration, we are looking for our successful candidate to have: Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities of settler colonialism on Indigenous Peoples and familiarity with addressing Indigenous-specific anti-racism, anti-racism and Indigenous Cultural Safety and foundational documents and legislative commitments (The Declaration Act, the Declaration Action Plan, TRC, IPS, Remembering Keegan, etc.).

Job Type: Temporary, Full-Time until April 28, 2025
