Contracts Manager

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Contracts Managerto join our team. The successful Contracts Manager will play a critical role in managing the end-to-end lifecycle of procurement contracts, from initial strategy development to execution and performance management. The role requires strong expertise in procurement, contract strategy, negotiation, and compliance, with a focus on ensuring value for the organization and mitigating risks.

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to define and implement comprehensive procurement and contract strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Develop and standardize contracting frameworks, templates, and processes to optimize efficiency and compliance.
  • Provide strategic guidance on supplier selection, contract negotiation, and cost management to ensure best-in-class contracting practices.
  • Lead the procurement process for high-value or complex contracts, including managing RFPs, RFQs, and negotiations.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to assess procurement needs and ensure alignment with strategic objectives and long-term business goals.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate terms and conditions for a wide range of contracts (e.g., vendor agreements, service contracts, partnerships, NDAs, etc.).
  • Ensure all contracts are compliant with legal, regulatory, and organizational policies, as well as industry best practices.
  • Manage contract renewals, amendments, and extensions, ensuring adherence to deadlines and terms.
  • Monitor ongoing contract performance and address issues related to non-compliance, disputes, or deviations from agreed terms.

What you bring

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Law, or related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Contracts Manager [CPCM], Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply [CIPS]) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in contract management, procurement, or a related field, with a proven track record of managing complex contracts and procurement strategies.
  • Strong understanding of procurement strategy, cost management, and contract law.
  • Ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
  • As a strong asset for consideration, we are looking for our successful candidate to have: Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).

Job Type: Casual full-time hours (37.5 hours per week)
Wage: $39.00 - $51.00/hour - as a casual employee, total earnings include an additional 13% in lieu of benefits and paid vacation. The rate for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan
