PHSA and BCCH are committed to anti-racism and equity in our hiring and employment practices. With learning and compassion, we are addressing existing inequities and barriers throughout our systems. PHSA is seeking to create a diverse workforce and to establish an inclusive and culturally safe environment. We invite applications and enquiries from all people, particularly those belonging to the historically, systemically, and/or persistently excluded groups identified under the B.C. Human Rights Code.
One of PHSA’s North Star priorities is to eradicate Indigenous-specific racism, which includes ongoing commitments to Indigenous recruitment and employee experience as well as dismantling barriers to health care employment at every level. We welcome Indigenous individuals to apply and/or contact the Sanya’k̓ula Team (Indigenous Recruitment & Employee Experience) for support at indigenous.employment@phsa.ca.

Vancouver Island Lifestyle Vancouver Island is indeed, an island – accessible to the rest of British Columbia by passenger ferry, air travel, or private boat. “The Island” as it’s generally called, is a long stretch of south-to-north land, dotted with incredibly diverse communities ranging from the historic Victoria (BC’s capital city) to the surfer vibes of Tofino. The Island is as self-sufficient as any other region within BC, and has several points of contact with the government-run ferry system.

Okanagan / Interior Lifestyle British Columbia’s Interior Region stretches from east of Fraser Valley to the Alberta border, with the US along the south (Washington State). The Thompson-Okanagan Region is part of the greater Interior Region, with the Okanagan Valley being a main attraction due to its resort areas and wineries. Kelowna, Kamloops, Penticton, Vernon, and Oliver are the larger municipalities of the region, and are popular for tourists as well as BC vacationers.

Northern BC Lifestyle Northern BC is a land of adventure and outdoor living, where residents can choose to live in small communities and villages, or even “off the grid” in remote locations. Prince George is the region’s largest city and is the main urban hub for northern residents to access a wider variety of services and supplies than available in small towns. The north is the place to be for those who want more space, less traffic, and clear night skies.
