This role will support the Molecular Imaging & Therapy Quality Program for BC Cancer.
This role will require on-site presence at Vancouver Cancer Centre and/or 601 West Broadway, Vancouver, with remote work as deemed appropriate.
The Quality and Systems Specialist maintains and administers the BC Cancer Functional Imaging Department’s Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). This electronic system supports the manufacture, testing, and development of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)-compliant radiopharmaceuticals. Reporting to the departmental Quality Assurance Manager, the position assists with the coordination and administration of the Department’s Quality Management System (QMS).
What you’ll do
- Maintain the LIMS, including system and user administration, creation and amendment of electronic product methods, inventory and instrument management, equipment communication interfaces, and training.
- Acts as the LIMS point of contact with external stakeholders and liaises with the LIMS vendor and IT services to arrange periodic system updates, user training, computer hardware requirements, as well as database server, connection, and other troubleshooting issues as necessary.

- Develop and executes validation protocols to ensure regulatory compliance for electronic systems and equipment.
- Conduct root-cause investigations associated with deviations, non-conformances, and failures through interviews, process review and root cause analysis, summarize findings, and recommend follow-up and/or corrective action.
- Draft and updates Standard Operating Procedures and Test Methods and submits to Manager for review and approval.
- Other activities may include assistance with the administration of the document control system, data analysis for quality trending purposes, maintenance of supplier files, and review of executed batch records.
What you bring
Qualifications:
- A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to Bachelor’s degree in Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or other related discipline.
- Three to five (3-5) years of experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industries
You have:
- Ability to operate an electronic QMS or LIMS.
- Demonstrate ability to learn new techniques and apply them to everyday practice.
- Knowledge of data integrity related to Good Manufacturing or Good Laboratory Practices
- Ability to efficiently manage time and organize work
- Technical writing ability and strong attention to detail
- Ability to interact constructively and efficiently in a cross functional team environment.
- Demonstrate ability to independently manage workload priorities
- Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight Report (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and other related reports.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
- As a strong asset for consideration, we are looking for our successful candidate to have: Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).

Wage: $39.26 to $49.01 per hour
