Role Summary

The BC Health Workday Program is a provincial initiative with seven participating BC health organizations (FHA, IHA, ISLH, NHA, PHC, PHSA and VCHA). The program began in 2023 to implement a Human Capital Management System (HCMS) software solution as part of the BC Health Human Resources Strategy to transform HR services. Designed by Workday Canada, the new provincial platform will replace existing HR and payroll systems in the health organizations with a single, unified technical system that will standardize and modernize HR and payroll services. It is a significant transformation in BC and is vital to the sustainability of BC’s health system.

Reporting to the Manager, Reporting & Dashboards, the Reporting Lead is responsible for leading the definition and prioritization of reporting scope, ensuring all efforts are aligned with key business objectives for the implementation of BC Health Workday. The Reporting Lead is responsible for gathering, validating and documenting reporting requirements from various Health Organizations, translating their needs into actionable plans. This role establishes and enforces a standardized reporting framework, providing direction to report writers and testers while overseeing the development and quality assurance of all reports. Partners with Data Governance and Security teams to ensure all reports meet strict privacy and data quality standards and supports end users through comprehensive documentation and training to promote successful adoption.

Key Accountabilities

• Leads the definition and prioritization of the reporting scope for the project, ensuring alignment with partner needs and overarching program objectives.
• Facilitates collaboration across Health Organizations to gather, validate, and document reporting requirements, including data elements, performance metrics, and visualization formats.
• Develops and enforces a standardized reporting framework, including templates, naming conventions, and best practices to promote consistency, maintainability, and scalability. Oversees report development and testing activities by providing direction to Workday report develops and testers, reviewing outputs to ensure data accuracy, usability, and compliance.
• Coordinates with Data Governance and Security partners to ensure reports adhere to privacy, role-based access, and data quality standards, and supports end-user enablement through documentation and training.
• Participates in meetings and committees as required as a subject matter expert in reporting to support BC Health Workday implementation. 

Qualifications

• A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, plus five to seven (5 - 7) year’s recent, related experience focused on enterprise-wide reporting within a large scale system implementation.
• Experience in systems data analysis and reporting, process optimization. Strong understanding of data governance, data security, and privacy principles, and experience applying them to reporting solutions. Demonstrated ability to lead, plan, direct and implement processes. Strong leadership and communication abilities, and experience with reporting tools and data analysis.
• Strong project management and communication skills.

Job Type: Temporary, Full-Time
Wage:  $88,990 to $127,923.
The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan.
