The Research Project Manager 2 leads and co-ordinates all aspects of the current projects undertaken by the department.  The role ensures the deliverables are completed on time and on budget, as identified in the project plan.  The Research Project Manager 2 leads and coordinates project activities including financial responsibility for the project and management of resources as deemed necessary to meet the schedule and budget for the project deliverables.  The Research Project Manager 2 identifies and tracks metrics as they relate to the project deliverables.  The role will establish the project team and provide leadership, guidance and support to designated project staff, contractors and partners.

What you do

• Establish detailed project charter, plans and objectives to outline timelines and project deliverables.
• Execute project plan according to project methodologies, ensure successful and coordinated completion of project components, facilitate consensus with partners as needed and ensure readiness for project implementation.
• Track project progress according to project plan and identified metrics. 
• Monitor and report on the status of projects and major barriers encountered. 
• Make decisions and recommendations regarding projects scope and related changes required to facilitate a successful outcome. 
• Implement or contribute to the implementation of effective processes to assess project risks, identify risk mitigation strategies and monitor risk throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop and monitor project budgets within the context of operational demands and environmental and resource constraints and use best practice methods to thoroughly monitor and adhere to allocated budgets. 
• Responsibilities include reporting variance, planning and adjusting operations and/or staffing to meet projections and annual targets, approving expenditures and preparing summaries and is accountable for its own operating budget.
• Provide supervisory guidance and direction to staff. 
• Maintain full accountability for all personnel including hiring, termination, and handling discipline problems.

What you bring

Qualifications:

• A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a PhD in Health Services Administration, Business Administration or relevant health care discipline
• A minimum of seven (7) year’s recent, related experience in project management and facilitating and managing consultation processes with a wide range of partner groups. 
• Project Management Professional designation.

You have:

• Experience or working knowledge of quality improvement methodology and change management is key to the success of this role. 
• Excellent communication skills to function within a complex interdisciplinary environment including ability to communicate with the physician community. 
• Computer literacy with word-processing, spreadsheet, presentation, project management and database applications.

Foster trust through respectful communication, active listening, and honoring equity-deserving people's perspectives on health and wellness. Commit to ongoing education and training on Indigenous health issues, cultural safety, and DEI principles. Participate in workshops, cultural immersion experiences, and continuous professional development to stay informed and responsive to equity-deserving groups. Provide patient-centred care that respects Indigenous ways of knowing and healing, respects BIPOC experiences and world views ensuring that care plans are culturally relevant and holistic.
• Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities of settler colonialism on Indigenous Peoples and familiarity with addressing Indigenous-specific anti-racism, anti-racism and Indigenous Cultural Safety and foundational documents and legislative commitments (The Declaration Act, the Declaration Action Plan, TRC, IPS, Remembering Keegan, etc.).

Job Type: Temporary, Part-Time (0.53 FTE until November 30, 2026)

Salary Range: $106,026-$152,413 per year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.
