Requirements for Employment
Promoting transparency through hiring verification: credentials, references and identification.
The PHSA recruitment process includes verification of candidates’ qualifications such as certificates, registrations, memberships, etc.
This process is in place for specific professions, where required by provincial standards. You can send documents via email.

After the interview stage
Once you’ve completed the interview stage, you will need to provide professional references from your immediate supervisor (if you are currently employed) or your education institution (if you are a new graduate).
If you are the successful candidate, you will participate in a two-step ID verification process. We will confirm your two pieces of government-issued photo identification twice:
- Virtually (on-camera)
- In person on the first day of employment

Professions requiring hiring verification process
Candidates working in regulated health professions and certified health professions will participate in the three-step credentialling process. This includes non-contract roles that require membership/certification/registration in the job description (e.g. BC College of Nurses & Midwives, College of Health and Care Professionals of BC). This does not apply to physicians.
