BC Children’s Hospital is seeking a Pediatric Interventional Radiologist to join the Department of Radiology.
Located in beautiful Vancouver, BC Children’s Hospital is a 220 bed tertiary and quaternary care hospital serving all British Columbia's children and families.
The successful applicant will join our collegial and dynamic team of 16 Pediatric and Interventional Radiologists who deliver imaging services to BC Children’s Hospital and consulting services to the entire province of British Columbia. The Radiology Department is located within the Teck Acute Care Centre which opened in October 2017. We are equipped with state-of-the-art 3T and 1.5 T MRI, CT, US, Nuclear Medicine, fluoroscopy, radiography and angiography / IR systems.
The Pediatric Interventional Radiology service is currently staffed by 2 part-time Pediatric Interventional Radiologists and provides the full range of Pediatric Interventional Radiology procedures, including diagnostic angiography and vascular intervention, neuro-intervention, hepatobiliary and renal transplant intervention, vascular malformation therapy, long term vascular access, GI tract access and dilatation, joint injections, biopsy, pain management and oncologic intervention.
Teaching and clinical research are integral parts of the role. The BC Children’s Hospital Department of Radiology is affiliated with the University of British Columbia and offers medical school, residency and fellowship training in Diagnostic and Pediatric Radiology and Interventional Radiology. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills and aspire to advance academic radiology. Academic time is supported for research and educational activities.
Candidates must be eligible for medical licensure in the Province of British Columbia, have or be eligible for Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Diagnostic Radiology, and have completed recognized fellowships in Pediatric Radiology and Interventional Radiology, or a recognized Pediatric Interventional Radiology fellowship.
The successful candidate will be recommended for clinical faculty appointment to the University of British Columbia. Academic rank, dependent on qualifications, will be recommended by the Department of Radiology of the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Medicine.
