British Columbia Children’s Hospital and the University of British Columbia (UBC) are seeking a locum pediatric plastic and craniofacial surgeon to join a group of seven full or part time pediatric plastic surgeons in a practice dedicated to excellence in clinical care, teaching and research.

Applicants should be eligible for specialty certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.

The successful locum will have a broad range of competencies to allow seamless integration into a combined cleft palate/craniofacial and general pediatric plastic surgery practice including hand, burns, vascular anomalies and trauma. The locum’s clinical responsibilities will include on-call coverage, elective and emergency surgery as well as participation in the Division’s general pediatric plastic surgery ambulatory clinics and subspecialty, multidisciplinary (eg cleft palate, brachial plexus palsy/complex upper limb) programs. The locum will participate in teaching and supervision of undergraduate and post-graduate trainees, including a pediatric plastic surgery fellow.

The earliest start date is August 1, 2025 (or as soon as an appropriate candidate is identified) and the locum is guaranteed for a minimum of 3 months (and may be extended for up to 1 year) depending on clinical need and staff availability. The frequency of on call and other clinical duties will be commensurate with the flexible locum FTE, which could range to 1.0 FTE depending on locum availability and programmatic need.
