We’re looking for a passionate Radiation Oncologist to join our BC Cancer team in beautiful, Kelowna BC!

BC Cancer – Kelowna is a full-service cancer center, delivering care to thousands of patients annually. The department is equipped with advanced facilities, including:

  • 2 CT simulators
  • 5 linear accelerators offering capabilities for VMAT, SABR, SRS, and adaptive radiotherapy
  • A leading-edge brachytherapy program

The department operates in close collaboration with on-site medical physics, radiation therapy, dosimetry, and nursing teams, as well as the adjacent medical oncology department.

BC Cancer's population-based model and databases support cutting-edge outcome-based research. Our Radiation Oncology team strives for excellence in clinical care and the development of academic expertise within a provincial cancer care environment. We seek a candidate who will deliver exceptional patient care, engage in teaching, and contribute to clinical research.

Applicants must be eligible for licensure in British Columbia and must have obtained their Fellowship in Radiation Oncology from the RCPSC (or hold an equivalent qualification) by the time of appointment. The successful applicant will receive a clinical appointment with the UBC Faculty of Medicine, Department of Surgery, Division of Radiation Oncology, and will have privileges through both the Provincial Health Services Authority and our partner health authority, Interior Health, at the Kelowna General Hospital, a tertiary referral centre in the region. Canadian Immigration regulations accord preference to Canadian citizens and landed immigrants.

Successful candidates will also have:

  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
  • Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).
