Rural/Remote, Northern and Metro Recruitment Incentives are Here!

The recruitment incentives for rural/remote, northern and metro areas are now available between April 1, 2024 and March 31, 2025! This program offers monetary incentives to support the hiring of nurses and allied health professionals for difficult-to-fill roles. Incentive eligibility varies by location, position and funding availability, and employees must commit to a 24 month return of service as part of the qualification process:

Northern remote/rural community: Up to $30,000
Other remote/rural community: Up to $20,000
Urban/metro area: Up to $15,000

Incentive Eligibility

Eligibility is determined by Talent Acquisition as part of the recruitment and hiring process. The program focuses on eligible nursing and allied health professionals in remote communities and difficult-to-fill urban roles, including both part-time and full-time regular positions.

Eligible Employees

Includes out-of-province candidates, new graduates, internationally educated nurses, or who haven't held a regular position with another HEABC employer, including First Nation Service Provider, First Nations Health Authority or private/affiliate long-term assisted living employers in BC for 12 months prior to the hire date (Note – “regular position” refers to permanent roles; employees who are in a temporary or casual position are eligible).
